Summary. The paper presents the possibilities of modeling the functioning of photovoltaic modules in MATLAB engineering software packages. In SIMULINK package one implemented a single-mode mathematical model of the photovoltaic module for determining current-voltage characteristics. The model was verified for manufacturer-supplied data and actual measurement results made with the I-V 400 meter. The new capabilities for physical modeling of photovoltaic modules are also available in the SIMSCAPE package. Simulation results obtained from the SIMSCAPE model were also compared with the results of selected measurements under the specified radiation and temperature conditions.
